JCB Dual Drive

all-new JCB 3CX in front of city building, driving on the road

The JCB backhoe loader is a staple in the construction industry, thanks to its versatility and reliability. To celebrate the machine’s 70th anniversary in production, JCB has refreshed the iconic backhoe with innovative upgrades across the range.

One of the most exciting developments is the launch of Dual Drive, available as standard on the 3CX Pro and 4CX Pro. This groundbreaking technology allows machine repositioning without rotating the driver’s seat, meaning the operator can control the machine without taking their eyes off the work site.

JCB highlights the increased operator efficiency enabled by this design, particularly when undertaking tasks such as ditch cleaning, grading, demolition or road repairs. The operator can safely monitor the work area while driving.

Steering is controlled by a roller switch on the left-hand servo lever, while the direction of travel is selected using a switch on the right-hand lever. Throttle and brake functions are managed by the two pedals located in front of the operator. A rear-mounted seven-inch monitor displays a wide-angle view of the machine’s front, courtesy of a bird’s eye camera installed on the cab roof.
