Sales Administration

Location: Head Office – Altrincham, Cheshire
Job Type: Full-Time

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join Gunn JCB as a Sales Administrator within our Machinery Sales division.
We are seeking a highly organised and detail-oriented individual to support our sales operation at Head Office. This pivotal administrative role requires a professional approach, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to delivering outstanding customer service.

Key Responsibilities:

Customer Service & Communication

  • Respond to telephone enquiries in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Liaise effectively with internal departments to support the full sales process.

Order Processing & Invoicing

  • Accurately process machinery orders and raise sales invoices.
  • Ensure all documentation related to purchases and sales is completed promptly and to company standards.

Order Management & Coordination

  • Monitor the status of machinery orders, coordinating with relevant teams to ensure timely delivery.
  • Proactively follow up on outstanding orders and keep customers and internal colleagues informed of progress.

Internal Collaboration

  • Work closely with the Service and Parts departments to resolve any vehicle-related queries.
  • Verify correct installation of accessories and attachments prior to delivery.

Administration & Data Entry

  • Enter sales and machine data accurately into internal systems.
  • Maintain organised and up-to-date electronic and paper records, ensuring compliance with internal procedures.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Previous experience in a similar administrative or sales support role (ideally within machinery, automotive, or a related commercial environment).
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent organisational skills.
  • Clear and confident communicator, both written and verbal.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, with the ability to quickly learn internal systems (training will be provided).
  • A team-orientated and proactive approach with a willingness to learn.
