Scott’s Hire Strengthens Fleet with Major JCB Investment from Gunn JCB

Scott's Hire Gunn JCB Machines

Gunn JCB is proud to announce a significant new machine order from long-standing customer Scott’s Hire, further strengthening a partnership built on performance, reliability and trust.

The plant hire specialist has committed to the purchase of 80 JCB Loadall telescopic handlers alongside 20 JCB X Series excavators, reinforcing its focus on providing modern, dependable equipment to contractors across its operational area.

A Versatile Fleet for Modern Job Sites

The Loadall order includes machines with lift heights ranging from six to eight metres, making them ideally suited to a wide variety of construction, industrial and infrastructure applications. Renowned for their productivity, safety features and durability, JCB Loadalls remain the benchmark in telescopic handler design, helping hire companies deliver confidence and capability on site.

X Series Excavators Added to the Line-up

In addition to the telehandlers, Scott’s Hire has selected 131X, 145XR and 245XR X Series excavators. These models are well regarded across the industry for their refined operator environments, improved fuel efficiency and robust build quality. The reduced tail-swing XR models also provide excellent manoeuvrability in restricted working environments, making them a popular choice with contractors.

A Partnership Built Over Two Decades

This latest investment continues a relationship spanning more than 20 years, during which Scott’s Hire has purchased in excess of 500 JCB machines. The scale of the latest order highlights the confidence the business places not only in JCB equipment, but also in the aftersales support, expertise and long-term value delivered by Gunn JCB.

Operations manager Marc Jackson appreciates the equipment:
“JCB is synonymous with building the world’s best telescopic handlers. They offer the reliability and safety customers expect on site and we want to be known for providing modern, dependable machines that contractors can rely on. The X Series models have been widely praised across the industry and directly by our customers too, with excellent operator feedback.

“With JCB you get market-leading machines backed by excellent dealer support and strong residual values. It is also good to know we are supporting jobs close to home with the machines built in neighbouring Staffordshire.”
